Chapter 1144 Goals 2002-2003

  1. Promote active membership and involvement of current membership while increasing membership by 10%:
    1. Outreach to other area jurisdictions such as Arlington, George Mason University and UVA/Virginia Tech
    2. Design activities to facilitate greater interaction
    3. Continue to use e-mail to access board members and committee chairs and develop a list-serve on updated 1144 membership directory.

 

  1. Increase community and within-chapter outreach and involvement:
    1. Continue to invite chairpersons to each board meeting
    2. Continue to recruit new and recent members to chair/co-chair positions and serve on committees
    3. Review current committees and viability
    4. Recognize accomplishments of members
Area 8E Goals 1997-98
  1. Encourage and support each chapter in setting and achieving membership goals to meet District VIII objectives;
  2. Continue with 100% of chapters achieving 20/20 status;
  3. Encourage chapters to recognize outstanding contributions to public education;
  4. Assist chapters with identifying approaches to raising money for scholarships and awards; Encourage and assist chapters with strategic planning to improve their effectiveness.

District VIII Goals 2000-2001

  1. Be the recognized advocate for public education in Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia;
  2. Increase membership in District VIII by 10% by June 30, 2001;
  3. Have 100% of the 66 chapters in District VIII to achieve 20/20 status by June 30, 2001;
  4. Target and assist at-risk chapters in District VIII;
  5. Reduce the number of zero initiation Chapters to zero; and assist all chapters in strategic planning to improve their effectiveness.
