The mission of Phi Delta Kappa International is to promote high-quality education, in particular publicly-supported education, as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life. This mission is accomplished through our tenets of leadership, research, and service.

The vision will guide the work of PDK and will be realized through the following three goals:
Service—Cultivate and support the next generation of educators
Leadership—Recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of PDK members and chapters
Research—Share and distribute accurate knowledge and education research
